Misdirecting your opponents is just as important as reading their actions, and creates a satisfying experience that escalates the intensity each round.
In Fractured Sky, you deploy airships, construct buildings, and uncover hidden information in order to capture the most Starfalls by the end of the game.
Army deployment
Each round, you’ll deploy 10 battalions of troops spread however you want across 3 airships. You can send all 10 to one location, or split them more evenly. The key is that only you know how you’ve divided your troops.
Starfall & resources
You’re deploying your armies to fight for control over victory points known as Starfall and the resources available in each region. The most powerful player in each area takes the spoils, leaving their adversaries with lesser rewards.
Permanent area control
In addition to troop deployment, you can spend resources to construct permanent area advantages in adjacent territories. Build towers to bolster your armies strength of construct markets to collect more resources.
Hidden information
Another way to spend resources is to discover information the rest of the table doesn’t know, such as the location of hidden Starfall. But they know that you know, so how you act on that information can be a game all its own.
Unreliable clues
The game leaves breadcrumbs that are as effective for misdirection as they are helpful. Reading the intentions of your opponents based on partial information is critical to bringing home the rewards.
Suspenseful reveals
Each of the 5 rounds ends with nail-biting reveals. Did you read the clues right? Did you deploy your armies where they were the most effective? There’s never a shortage of gasps as the battles reach their conclusions.
